Our Story
Fat Straws began in Plano, Texas in 2002 with a simple mission: create a place where people could connect over great drinks, meaningful conversations, and a sense of community.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Terry and Jennifer Pham, Fat Straws introduced many North Texans to bubble tea long before boba became a mainstream trend. Inspired by their cultural backgrounds, family traditions, and love of hospitality, they created a unique experience built around handcrafted drinks, quality ingredients, and genuine human connection.
More than two decades later, Fat Straws continues to serve handcrafted bubble tea, fruit teas, smoothies, coffee drinks, and fresh mochi donuts across North Texas. What started as a single shop in Plano has grown into a beloved local brand serving communities throughout Dallas, Richardson, and beyond.

Meet the Founders
Terry and Jennifer Pham founded Fat Straws in Plano, Texas in 2002. Their journey reflects the values that continue to shape the company today: hard work, resilience, hospitality, and community.
Terry’s passion for tea began at an early age through family traditions and experiences that emphasized gathering around food and drink. Jennifer shared the vision of creating a welcoming business that could introduce new flavors and cultures to North Texas while bringing people together.
Together, they built Fat Straws as more than a bubble tea shop. They built a place where guests, employees, and communities could feel connected, valued, and inspired.
More than twenty years later, their commitment to quality, innovation, and community remains at the heart of everything Fat Straws does.
